What is needed before setting out?
The surveyor needs the latest approved-for-use project information relevant to the work. Depending on the assignment this can include site plans, architectural or engineering drawings, coordinates, grid information, levels and existing survey control.
Typical setting-out work
The agreed scope may include building corners, grid lines, foundation positions, structural reference points, road or infrastructure alignments and design levels. The exact items should come from the project drawings and consultant requirements.
Why drawing control matters
Using superseded or incomplete drawings can create avoidable site problems. The project team should identify the correct drawing revision and clarify discrepancies before critical positions are marked.
